How long does it take to refinish hardwood floors?
It depends on the size of the space and the extent of the damage, but a typical refinishing job takes around 3–5 days to complete.
Can I stay in my home during the process?
Yes. You may need to avoid walking on the floors for a few hours while the finish dries, and we plan the work around you.
Can I change the color of my floors?
Absolutely. After sanding, we lay out stain samples right on your floor so you can see the exact color in your own light before we commit.
What's the difference between refinishing and resurfacing?
Refinishing sands off the old finish and applies new stain and finish. Resurfacing applies a thin layer of new hardwood or laminate on top of the existing floor.
How often should hardwood floors be refinished?
It depends on foot traffic — a good rule of thumb is every 7–10 years.
How much does hardwood floor refinishing cost in San Diego?
It depends mainly on square footage, the condition of the wood and whether you want a stain color change. That's why every estimate is free and done in person — you get a clear, upfront quote before any work starts.
Can you remove pet urine stains from hardwood?
Most pet stains can be sanded out and treated during refinishing. Very deep stains that have soaked into the wood may require replacing the affected boards — we'll tell you honestly during the estimate.
